Chapter 7

Exotic, wild sex, no matter how good or empowering, doesn’t mean Brooke should have said yes to dating Tristan. They fucked. Kinky, dirty, fucking. Letting off some steam, dealing with the incredible sexual tension between them, topped off with a good dose of grief, brought them to bed. It wasn’t supposed to mean anything, much less end up with her dating the sexy Trooper, who’d essentially been a stranger to her a week ago when she’d asked for his help.

She snagged her dress from his bedroom closet and made her way to the kitchen, wearing a pair of his boxers and T-Shirt.

“I hope you’re hungry.” Tristan stood in front of the stove. The crisp smell of bacon and…she sniffed again, catching a whiff of cinnamon and coffee.

“French Toast and bacon,” he said.

“I could eat that.” She plopped her dress on the recliner before maneuvering around Tristan, who smacked her ass while she poured herself a cup of coffee. Leaning against the counter, she blew into her mug and admired the fine specimen of a man flipping some bread. She’d always enjoyed sex, when she had it. Though the last year of her relationship with Larry, she could count on one hand their sexual encounters, and they hadn’t been good ones. More like hurried, let’s get the obligatory screw out of the way.

Her and Tristan had sex, made love, screwed, whatever you want to call it, three times. She squeezed her legs together, the soreness of having him inside her so many times, for so long, and occasionally being rough felt so good she blushed. She liked to express herself during sex and generally that came in the form of colorful language, only Larry didn’t think a lady should be saying things like, ‘oh yes, there, fuck me there’. Not that she said that often, but sometimes, when the sex was raw, it was necessary.

“You’re deep in thought.” Tristan kissed her temple before putting two plates on the kitchen table.

He did say some things that some women could take the wrong way, but nothing so horrible it warranted breaking up with him over, especially considering how attentive he’d been with her all night. Holding her in his arms. Gently caressing her. Giving her something to wear before she had to ask for it. She really wanted to meet some of these idiotic women he’d been dating because the man was a sweetheart who knew every erogenous zone on a woman’s body and how to make her scream in delight. Who wouldn’t want a man like that?

And by the smell of things, he could cook too.

She sat down next to him, slicing into a thick piece of French toast drizzled in syrup, cinnamon, and a bit of powdered sugar. “Any ex-girlfriends you can introduce me to?”

“Why the hell would I do that?” he stuffed an entire piece of bacon in his mouth.

“I want to see the kind of women who would turn down someone as good in bed as you and who can cook too.
